It is difficult to gain a private audience with government. Texfed has an excellent working relationship with senior officials at the Department of Trade & Industry, Board on Tariffs & Trade, Customs and with the Minister of Trade & Industry. Essentially Texfed acts as the Voice of the Textile Industry, providing support and advice to all it's members.

There is an urgent need in the current South Africa, for the textile industry to have a strong voice, representative of all manufacturers, in order to ensure that any changes to trade legislation that could potentially harm the industry, are dealt with swiftly and effectively.

UNITY is the key to the textile industry's survival in the face of the huge challenges facing it today.

UNITY is essential if the industry is to grow and prosper in the face of international competition.
